An intermedia exhibition with Celso Machado, Thomas Neuhaus, Tim Pauli, and Philip Popien (Sound) and Tabea Borchardt, Max Füllbier, Hella Schneider, Eke Seeger und Anna Traskalik (Pictures, Objects and Setup) in the Sanaa Building on Zollverein from June 23rd to July 1st, 2018. The Composers each made 30 minutes of sound, distributed to 4 channels in the slightly exaggerated acoustics of the Sanaa Building. The sounds were inspired by the pictures, videos and objects, of the photographers and object designers. The result were compositions, which consists often (but not only) of short sonic events which were easily locatable in the Building. The compositions were the cut into reasonable sections and recombined to form a 2-hours loop which accompanied the exhibition independent of any other time based medium, that was played at the same time. The exhibition also featured a virtual 3d-walk through the exhibition in which, as opposed to the real exhibition, the sounds were closely linked to certain areas of the virtual space. My contribution to this project have also been condensed to a tape piece “Carbonized and Used again” and may be listened to at the corresponding post.
