I wanted to generate all sonic material from one source withour revealing it too much. I recorded a single note on a piano, made a fourier transform of it and used only very high partials for the retransformation, also heavily time stretching or compressing it during the process. After having already prepared material for most of the piece, I found, that there was something missing. I threw in some samples of a talk I had with my son during our holidays in Sweden which for me linked the piece “back to (my) life” (so to speak) , and all of a sudden everything made sense (to me).
